On Structure of Thermal Processes

Thermal processes are stochastic maps that preserve Gibbs distribution. We present extremal points of thermal processes for dimension d=3. Temperature thresholds in the convex structure are explained in terms of deterministic extractable work. We also study decomposability of thermal processes into thermal processes acting in lower dimension, obtaining that for any dimension d, there exists thermal process that cannot be decomposed in such a way. Snapshots of some other resutls on thermal processes (and thermal operations - their quantum generalizations) are also presented.
