A Quantum Information Perspective on Spectroscopy

The calculation of the spectra of a quantum state over the eigenbasis of a Hamiltonian is an important problem in chemistry and many-body physics. In this work we look at this problem from a quantum information perspective, with the goal to understand its computational complexity and how its changes with the desired precision. We will discuss sufficient conditions for its efficient computation on classical computers and the existence of potential quantum advantages.
