Description of Activities:
The main scientific goal of this project is to understand what quantum networks can offer for quantum information processing. This ranges from asymptotically large networks, usually more interesting from a fundamental point of view, to small networks that are or will be soon implemented in the lab.
Expected outcomes are:
- understand how quantum information resources, with an emphasis on entanglement and quantum non-locality, can be distributed over networks
- explore the new possibilities highly connected networks offer for quantum information theory with respect to more standard point-to-point geometries,
- study how intrinsically quantum information effects, such as activation of quantum resources, take place in quantum networks
- extend the study of complex networks to the quantum regime.
