17 January 2005 ATOM 3D: TECHNICAL PROGRESS MEETING

The NEST European project members meet at ICFO to report the first six months results on twezeer technology During the 17th and the 18th of January, the members of the European ATOM 3D project meet at ICFO’s headquarters, in Barcelona, to evaluate the results of the first six months of work since the program started. Scientists from Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, France, Hungary, Spain and United Kingdom will discuss the new research challenges and future research aspects in the next 6 months. The program’s duration is 36 months.

ATOM 3D ‘Advanced techniques for manipulation’ (using novel 3D light field synthesis) is a NEST Adventure, meaning unconventional and visionary research with the potential to open new fields for European science and technology. This particular project is aimed to broaden optical tweezer technology.
