ICREA Professor at ICFO Turgut Durduran invited to give a presentation in the Hot Topics session of the SPIE BiOS conference. From January 27 thru February 1, the city of San Francisco hosted SPIE Photonics West. The event consists of three conferences and two world-class exhibitions. With more than 23,000 attendees, six renowned symposia, and 4,900 R&D presentations, speakers and attendees focused on covering a wide range of topics within biomedical optics, biophotonics, translational research, industrial lasers, 3D printing, optoelectronics, microfabrication, among others.

Attendees were able to choose from more than 70 special events to attend, learn, and do networking. These special events include the BiOS Hot Topics, the Welcome Reception, plenary sessions, technical events, the Prism Awards and Startup Challenge, and keynote presentations for industry.

ICREA Prof at ICFO Turgut Durduran was invited to give a presentation in the “Hot Topics” session of the SPIE BiOS conference, where he explained the research he and his team are conducting at ICFO. He talked about the future of medical optics, focusing on diffuse correlation spectroscopy and other brain imaging techniques as well as giving upcoming perspectives about the field.

SPIE Photonics West is considered the world’s largest photonics technologies event covering the entire spectrum of light-driven technologies and attracting researchers, companies, and product developers from around the world.
