Prof Yzuel honoured for her scientific career.

The Order of Alfonso X the Wise (Orden de Alfonso X el Sabio) is a prestigious award granted by royal decree since 1902 in recognition of activities in the fields of education, science, culture, higher education and research. Prof. María Josefa Yzuel, distinguished member of ICFO’s Scientific Advisory Board, was decorated with the Encomienda honour last week, in recognition of her scientific career.
Prof. Yzuel is Emeritus Professor of Physics of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and, among other positions, acted as president of the Spanish Society of Optics from 1993-1996.
