Droplets in Bose-Fermi mixtures

In my talk I will report on progress in our theoretical studies of a mixture of attractively interacting degenerate Bose and Fermi gases in the presence of no confinement. We demonstrate that the $p$-wave interactions for fermions are vital for stabilizing the Bose-Fermi droplet in a three-dimensional space. The quantum Lee-Huang-Yang correction for bosons, although not necessary for the stabilization process, is essential in allowing the access into the regime of low enough densities. In the second part of my talk I will discuss a role of second order in Bose-Fermi coupling constant correction to the mean field energy, in stabilization of droplets. This correction opens a possibility for self-bound droplets without p-wave interactions between fermions.
