Multifunctional optical surfaces for industry

Description of Activities:

Optical surfaces based on ultra-thin materials and nano-structuring offer unprecedented flexibility in shaping the propagation of light for a wide range of optical and optoelectronic applications. Together with major industrial partners, we focus on the development of materials, including metals and graphene, which are a few atoms thick. We also perform large-scale nanofabrication for multifunctional surfaces with anti-reflective, electrically conductive, self-cleaning, or antimicrobial properties. Crucially, we also aim at providing the surfaces with electrical and electro-optic tunability. Our scientific and technological effort targets products in the display, photovoltaic and sensing industries.
