Prof. Joseph Eberly

Prof. Eberly has visited the ICFO on September 6th and 7th, 2004

September 06, 2004

Josep H. Eberly earned his doctored in Physics in Stanford University, in 1962. He is the Andrew Carnegie Professor of Physics and Professor of Optics, in the University of Rochester, in USA, and Director of the Rochester Theory Center for Optical Science and Engineering. His research activity has been distinguished with several awards received in USA, Poland and Germany, among them the prestigious Charles Townes award.

Professor Eberly's research interests are in the general field of Theoretical Quantum Optics and Atomic, Molecular and Optical (AMO) science. Themes of interest include quantum information and the dynamics of entanglement in continuous Hilbert spaces, coherent quantum control via counter-intuitive dark-state interactions, soliton and adiabaton propagation, and non-sequential double ionization of atoms exposed to high intensity radiation.

Joseph H. Eberly has given a seminar at ICFO with the title ‘Phase entanglement and the real EPR experiment’.
