Prof. Maciej Lewenstein

Prof. Maciej Lewenstein distinguished by the Foundation for Polish Science for his contributions in quantum optics and ultracold gases. The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) awarded the most important scientific distinction in Poland - informally called the \"Polish Nobel Prize\"-on December 7th. – Since 1992, the prize is given annually in 4 categories: social sciences and humanities, exact sciences, life sciences and technical sciences.

ICREA Prof. Maciej Lewenstein, leader at ICFO of the Quantum optics group, was awarded the 2011 FNP Prize in exact sciences for his achievements in the area of quantum optics and the physics of ultracold gases.
