08 March 2013 New Publication for the Optoelectronics Industry

Dr. Dhriti Ghosh

The PhD thesis of Dr. Dhriti Ghosh published by Springer Dr. Dhriti S. Ghosh, formerly a PhD student in the group led by ICREA Prof. at ICFO Valerio Pruneri, defended his thesis entitled ‘Ultrathin metal transparent electrodes for the optoelectronics industry\' in October 2012. This was the culmination of a successful PhD degree at ICFO which included the receipt of the Photonics 21 Student innovation Award for his work on ultrathin metal films for energy-efficient photonics.

Now Dr. Ghosh receives further recognition for his thesis work, having been included for publication in the annual selection of Springer Theses – the “best of the best”. Nominated and endorsed by two recognized specialists, each thesis in this prestigious series is chosen for its scientific excellence and impact on research. For greater accessibility to non-specialists, the published versions include an extended introduction, as well as a foreword by the student’s supervisor explaining the special relevance of the work for the field.

As a whole, the series provides a valuable resource both for newcomers to the relevant field, and for other scientists seeking detailed background information on special questions. Finally, it provides an accredited documentation of the valuable contributions made by today’s younger generation of scientists.
