ICFO PhD Student Giorgio Colangelo selected as semi - finalist of FameLab Spain. Giorgio Colangelo, from the Quantum Optics research group led by ICREA Prof at ICFO Morgan Mitchell, has been selected as one of the 12 semi-finalists of FameLab, an international contest of scientific monologues organized by the British Council in Spain and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), in collaboration with “la Caixa” Foundation.

FameLab is the largest international scientific monologue competition held in more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Giorgio entered the contest with a monologue focused on explaining, in a very natural and entertaining way, what Bose Einstein Condensates are and how we could benefit from them. .

The semi-finalist candidates, trained in Biology, Physics, Engineering or Mathematics, have shown great communication skills to explain science to society. Giorgio will participate in the semi-final round on March 21st at the Poliorama Theatre of Barcelona, where only 8 will go on to the big final, expected to take place May 14th in Madrid. .

All are encouraged to show support for Giorgio in the semi-final round at the Poliorama Theater (Rambla dels Estudis, 115). Tickets for the event will be available soon for 10 euros.
