Description of Activities:

We generate quantum states of light: entangled photon pairs, squeezed vacuum, and polarization squeezed states, all with very narrow (MHz) bandwidths and precisely tuned to atomic transitions in rubidium. This allows us to study the interaction of quantum light with atoms, to make ultra-bright quantum light sources, and to enhance the sensitivity of optical magnetometers.
