Yaroslav Kartashov, Fabrice Raineri and Marco Koschorreck This November one PhD student and two postdoctoral researchers have joined the ICFO: Marco Koschorreck from Germany, Yaroslav Kartashov from Russia, and Fabrice Raineri from France.

Marco Koschorreck comes from the University of Technology Dresden, in Germany, and has joined ICFO as a PhD student in Prof. Morgan Mitchell’s and Prof. Jürgen Eschner’s groups, in the area of Quantum Optics. He will be working in two research projects: “Laser-cooled atoms for quantum memories” and “Quantum light sources for quantum memories”.

Yaroslav Kartashov comes from the Lomonosov Moscow State University. He is specialized in optical solitons: interactions, stabilization and practical applications. Dr. Kartashov joined the ICFO as a Ramon-y-Cajal postdoctoral researcher. He will be working in the Nonlinear Optical Phenomena group, led by Prof. Lluis Torner, in the “Optical Solitons” project.

Fabrice Raineri comes from the Laboratorie de Photonique et de Nanostructures in Marcoussis, France, and has joined the ICFO as a postdoctoral researcher in the group led by Prof. Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh. He will be working in the project “Continuous-wave OPOs and nonlinear frequency conversion from the visible to the mid-IR.”
