The Institute welcomes new members

Two Postdoctoral researches and a new member of the Projects Unit join the Institute.

March 30, 2007
Two Postdoctoral researchers, Jacob Hoogenboom and Geza Toth, and one new member in the administration area, Sònia Saborit have joined ICFO.

Jacob Hoogenboom joins Prof. van Hulst’s group. He will work on a project within the EU Network of Excellence "Plasmo-Nano-Devices" together with Romain Quidant (ICFO), Gerard Colas des Francs and Alain Dereux (UBourgogne). He will focus on spontaneous emission dynamics and radiation patterns as they are modified by 2D resonant nanostructures. Particularly he will use single molecules (or Q-dots) as point detectors for radiative lifetime to map local fields and mode density around such nanostructures.

Geza Toth joins Prof. Lewenstein’s group. He is joining ICFO as a Ramon y Cajal fellow to work in the quantum optics theory group, on the theory of entanglement and its detection.

Sònia Saborit joins ICFO in the Projects Unit, administration area. Sonia will be taking care of the funding calls, paperwork and general follow-up of national research projects.
