Place: ICFO Auditorium

Michał van Hooft, Qutech, TU Delft

SPRING SCHOOL:

Title: "Introduction to SquidASM"

Abstract:  This session is an introduction for using SquidASM to write and simulate applications for a quantum network. It will discuss the relationship between SquidASM and other simulation tools, explain how to use the simulator and discuss in-depth how to write applications.

Bio: Michał van Hooft studied a double BSc in mathematics and in physics and continued with a MSc in theoretical physics at Utrecht University. Before joining QuTech, Michał worked at Ibeo Eindhoven on sensor simulations. Michał joined QuTech in 2023 as the Quantum Internet Alliance(QIA) Simulation Engineer and works on the simulation tools: SquidASM and the collection of packages colloquially called the NetSquid-snippets.

Instructions for students:

Part of the session will involve exercises using SquidASM. To be able to participate in these exercises, it is recommended that you bring a laptop. You also need to install SquidASM beforehand on this laptop.

Please follow the instructions described in the following hyperlink for the installation of SquidASM: https://squidasm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installation.html

If you run into problems with the installation, we invite you to either ask for support on the QNE forum: https://forum.quantum-network.com/c/squidasm/6

Or contact Michał directly via email: M.K.vanHooft@tudelft.nl
