Industrial Labs

In addition to a wide range of joint research projects currently running in collaboration with different types of corporations around the world, ICFO hosts several industrial laboratories.

Corning Surfaces Laboratory

The Corning-ICFO collaboration includes multi-year sponsorship of a Chaired Faculty Professorship, a Corning Surfaces Laboratory, and sponsored research projects of mutual interest. The Chaired Faculty Professorship will be occupied by Professor Valerio Pruneri. The Corning Surfaces Laboratory is designed to host cutting-edge fabrication and characterization equipment. The lab was officially inaugurated in June 2013.

ICFO-QUSIDE Joint Lab in Quantum Processing

ICFO and Quside have established a collaborative framework to foster the development of quantum processing technologies and accelerate their time to market. The Joint Lab in Quantum Processing sets a collaborative framework between Quside’s Advanced Computing Team and ICFO to launch dedicated initiatives.

ICFO–Chiral Nano Joint Lab in Carbon Nanotube Device Integration and Fabrication

ICFO and Chiral Nano have established a Joint Laboratory to foster innovation in carbon nanotube-based device fabrication and integration. As part of the collaboration, Chiral Nano will install at ICFO its proprietary equipment for the automated transfer of individual carbon nanotubes onto pre-patterned chips.

The Joint Laboratory will provide researchers with access to advanced nanotube integration capabilities and will support collaborative research projects of mutual interest. By combining Chiral Nano’s technology with ICFO’s expertise in photonics, quantum science, and nanotechnology, the collaboration aims to accelerate the development of next-generation nanotube-enabled devices and applications.
