one PhD student and a new member in the administration area join the Institute.

One Visiting Scientist, Prof. Dr. George Gibson; one postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Roberto Macovez; one PhD student, Giorgio Volpe; and one new member in the administration area, Noelia Cuesta, have joined ICFO.
Prof. Dr. George Gibson joins Prof. Jens Biegert’s group. Prof. Gibson, from the University of Connecticut U.S.A., is an expert in coherent interactions of molecular systems and will be involved in quantum tomography of molecular wavepackets.
Roberto Macovez joins Jordi Martorell’s group. Macovez is a PhD graduate from the University of Groningen where he performed research on experimental surface physics. He will work on the optical nonlinear interaction of light and metallic nanostructures.
Giorgio Volpe joins Prof. Romain Quidant’s group. Volpe will investigate new strategies to control light confinement at the subwavelength scale.
Noelia Cuesta Ronda joins ICFO at the Projects Economic Administration Unit. Cuesta will start working at Funding in order to strengthen the new Finances Unit.
