Silver nanowires are a promising low-cost and solution-processable alternative to ITO for transparent electrodes. Owing to their excellent optoelectronic properties, we have realized fully solution-processed semitransparent organic solar cells with a performance comparable to ITO-based reference devices. By choosing appropriate absorber materials, we are able to independently vary the transparency and the efficiency of the organic solar cells.
