We will present several new routes to increase the efficiency of thin film solar cells. We will show that different forms to nano- or micro- structure the architecture of a solar cell can be used to optically enhance the performance of such thin film solar cells. Alternative fabrication procedures, needed to be able to implement such optical control effectively, will be discussed.
