Communicating science to the public has become in recent years a crucial need. But 150 years ago, a family business run by Leopold Blaschka and his son Rudolf created a unique set of more than 700 species of invertebrate made in glass to show to the public the beauty and marvels of the invertebrate world recently unraveled by scientific expeditions. From discovery to publication and finally museum display case, we will investigate the relationship between science and the public through art and the three dimensional nature of the world we live in!
