ALBRECHT HAASE, 'Integration of Microoptics on Atom Chips'

ALBRECHT HAASE

Atom chips are a rapidly developing concept based on the miniaturization of current carrying and charged structures for cold atom manipulation. To develop these chips towards a universal toolbox for quantum optics experiments, we explore the possibility of integrating microoptical components for the preparation, manipulation, and detection of atoms on the chip. First experiments currently performed in our lab are aiming at the implementation of an integrated single atom detector based on an optical fibre cavity.
