IVAN SUPIC 'Resource-Efficient Black-Box Verification of Quantum States'

Seminar, February 11, 2020, 14:00. ICFO’s Seminar Room
IVAN SUPIC
Université de Genève
Efficient verification of quantum states emitted by an uncharacterised source is a very important step towards building reliable quantum technologies. The main aim is to build a protocol which uses as small number of copies as possible while being able to assure that the source is emitting the "correct" state. In the last years there has been a steady progress towards building such an optimal protocol. However, all known protocols rely on several undesirable assumptions, such as independence of the produced copies or perfect characterisation of the measurement devices. In this work we discuss ways to abandon such assumptions, which would move the verification procedure to the completely device-independent regime.
