What can you do to make yourself a more effective doctoral researcher and get the most out of your PhD?

It is a two-day interactive and intensive program for first year doctoral researchers to learn practical ways to increase researcher effectiveness and meet the challenges of PhD studies. The program covers PhD project planning, effective working practices, working with others in the research environment, creativity for collaborative research, negotiation skills, motivation and getting feedback.

Dates: 

Option 1               8^th and 9^th of April, 9:30-18:00

Option 2              13^th and 14^th of May, 9:30-18:00

Target Group: 1^st year PhD Students

Available places: 6

The course will be offered to 1^st or 2^nd year PhD students who did not have the opportunity to attend the PhD retreat

Training content:

The program covers PhD project planning, effective working practices, working with others in the research environment, creativity for collaborative research, negotiation skills, motivation and getting feedback. Participants are placed in learning groups to work on a range of activities. From this you will gain awareness of your performance as an individual and in a team. You will use and develop skills that are essential for a researcher, such as communication, planning, time management, problem solving, conflict resolution, as well as building a greater self-awareness of your learning and working styles. Furthermore, you will create good atmosphere to promote collaborative research among your peers from different scientific fields.
