Join two buzz words, Machine learning and Quantum computing, and you have the recipe for a hype. In this talk, we keep a realistic view and study what can be done with current and near-term quantum computers, arguing that we are at the threshold of gaining a constant-factor advantage over classical digital computers. The advantage to be gained is sufficient to create business value: nearly thirty Quantum Machine learning startups are being incubated at the moment, each with a valuation of at least US$ 1 million.
