Light Matter: Workshop on quantum light-matter interactions in low dimensions
May 4-7, 2017
ICFO Auditorium
ICFO Auditorium
Recently, there has been a rapid growth in the number of systems to control and manipulate interactions between light and matter in low dimensions at the quantum level. These include circuit and waveguide QED, atom-nanophotonics interfaces, cavity arrays, optomechanical systems, and atomic Rydberg gases. These systems in turn potentially give rise to exciting phenomena such as strong photon-photon interactions, topological and chiral physics, access to strongly correlated systems out of equilibrium, and quantum information processing capabilities.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together experimentalists and theorists working in these complementary and emerging fields, in order to exchange ideas and stimulate new research directions.
The workshop will begin on Thursday, May 4 in the morning and end by early afternoon on Sunday, May 7.
