LEONARDO GUERINI 'Measurement Incompatibility and Quantum Communication Witnesses'

How can one certify that two parties share a quantum communication channel? In this presentation we answer this question by introducing a distributed sampling task, in which one party receives a quantum state while a quantum measurement is specified to another. Their goal is to communicate optimally in order to reproduce the statistics generated by the given measurement on the given state. When restricted to classical communication, fundamental limitations arise witnessing that quantum communication was exchanged. Moreover, we prove an equivalence between the incompatibility of the implemented quantum measurements and the certification of quantum communication in this scenario, showing that our task is a perfect interpretation of measurement incompatibility in communicational terms. Interestingly, our results are closely related to other recent advances connecting measurement incompatibility to state discrimination and operational contextuality.
