HENNING FEHRMANN 'Data Analysis in Gravitational Wave Research'

HENNING FEHRMANN 'Data Analysis in Gravitational Wave Research'

HENNING FEHRMANN The Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Phy
Seminar, February 26, 2016, 15:00. ICFO Auditorium
HENNING FEHRMANN
The Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute)
This presentation describes a sketch of the gravitational wave detector LIGO. It introduces concepts of match filtering in analysing experimental data and outlines the required computational resources and one realisation - the Atlas computing cluster, respectively the HTCondor framework. Finally, results of the experiment are presented.
