Two ICFO Group Leader included in Clarivate Analytics 2023 compilation of Highly Cited Researchers
Clarivate Web of Science has released its annual list of Highly Cited Researchers, including two ICFO Group Leaders, Prof Dr F. Pelayo García de Arquer and ICREA Prof Dr Frank H. L. Koppens, both in the Cross-Field Category.
The Highly Cited Researchers are individuals at universities, research institutes and commercial organizations who have demonstrated a disproportionate level of significant and broad influence in their field or fields of research.
To determine the recently published list of influential researchers, Clarivate surveyed papers produced and cited over an 11-year period from January 2012 to December 2022 that at the end of 2022 ranked in the top 1% by citations for their Essential Science Indicators (ESI). Researchers are selected for their exceptional influence and performance in one of more of the 21 fields used in the ESI.
Neither professor is new to this Highly Cited Researcher list. Frank Koppens, leader of the Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics group, has been on the Clarivate list of highly cited scientists every year since 2018. Pelayo García de Arquer, who joined ICFO in 2020 as the leader of the CO2 Mitigation Accelerated by Photons group, made the list for the first time that same year.
