June is PRIDE Month
ICFOnians promote the awareness and inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community
The Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee at ICFO promotes a wide range of initiatives related to diversity in a broad sense throughout the year, supported by the SPIE @ ICFO Chair. Activities aim to reiterate the institute’s commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all members of our community regardless of their gender, nationality or sexual orientation, maximizing engagement in a creative, open and authentic way.
June is known around the world as the LGBTQIA+ Pride Month in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots in June 1969 that started an LGBTQ+ rights movement. The month provides the framework for a program of activities at ICFO, proposed by member of the ICFOnians community, that aim to promote awareness and inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community.
All are encouraged to participate in the activities included in the evolving agenda, and to collaborate with the D&I Committee with suggestions that will allow the institute to maximize the constructive participation of all members of our diverse community.
