ICFO and IBM together in
the research of renewable energies based on nanomaterials.

IBM Research and ICFO have signed a collaborative agreement on research and development of new organic materials for photovoltaic applications. This is the first step of a multidisciplinary project, carried out jointly by the IBM Research Center Thomas J. Watson at New York and ICFO.
The project focuses on the development of nanomaterials allowing an efficient conversion of solar energy. The research at ICFO involves the group led by ICFO ICREA Prof. Valerio Pruneri.
The initiative is part of IBM’s strategy Smarter Planet, where IBM scientists collaborate worldwide with researchers and industrial experts in the development of solutions that help enhancing energy efficiency, aiming at enjoying a greener planet in the future.
