2013 Wolf Prize

Prof. Cirac shares the 2013 Wolf Prize in Physics with Prof. Zoller.

January 03, 2013
ICFO's Distinguished Invited Professor Ignacio Cirac (Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics at Garching, Germany) and Prof. Peter Zoller (University of Innsbruck, Austria) were awarded the 2013 Wolf Prize, Israel's prestigious prize for groundbreaking theoretical contributions to quantum information processing, quantum optics and the physics of quantum gases.

The Wold Prize has been awarded annually since 1978 by the Wolf Foundation to preeminent scientists and artists in five areas, with four prizes in the sciences and one prize in the arts, in fixed rotation. Wolf winners are considered strong contenders for Nobel prizes.

Congratulations!
