La Vanguardia, with the input of experts in the fields of physics, neuroscience and medicine, has taken a stab at naming the most important discoveries (so far) of the 21st century. The discoveries, which have already made fundamental changes in the way we see and interact with the world around us, include graphene which is changing paradigms in the physics of materials. In reference to revolutionary devices to be made possible by this “wonder material”, the article cites the Hybrid Graphene-Quantum Dot Phototransistors made @ ICFO by Professors Frank Koppens and Gerasimos Konstantatos in 2012.
