Radiantis’s Powersense Optical Power Meter

ICFO spin-off offers new product with flexibility over a wide power range and a fast readout speed at high power levels.

March 10, 2015
Radiantis, co-founded in 2005 by ICREA Professor at ICFO Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh and ICFOnian Sara Otero as the first spin-off from ICFO, is a specialist supplier of innovative solutions for laser tuning, offering best-in-class frequency conversion systems, such as OPOs and Nonlinear Harmonic Generation Units. They now announce the addition of a fully-integrated optical power meter to its expanding range of compact products. The PowerSense incorporates both the detector head and power meter under the same enclosure, allowing the widest range of power levels (across 1 nW to 20 W) to be measured with a single detector head.

This new product for Radiantis, exhibited and demonstrated at the recent BIOS EXPO 2015 and the Photonics West Fair in San Francisco, has the ability to eliminate the need to acquire several heads for different power ranges - thus improving usability and reducing cost. It is offered for different spectral ranges, covering 200 - 1000 nm and 800 - 1800 nm as standard products.

PowerSense is ideal for real-time monitoring of optical power generated by any light source, including lasers. It can be used in scientific applications, laser maintenance and installation, or as a hand-held device for optical power inspection.
